Abstract
Mengkaji komposisi, tindakan, dan aplikasi klinikal tumbuhan Aloe vera dalam bidang pergigian dan untuk mewujudkan keberkesanannya sebagai tambahan yang tidak ternilai dalam rawatan penyakit gigi.
Kaedah. A pengguna dan sastera elektronik (MEDLINE, Cochrane Pusat Daftar Ujian Kawalan dan Google Scholar) carian telah dijalankan sehingga Julai 2013 dalam vitro dan dalam kajian vivo dan penyelidikan menyampaikan klinikal, mikrobiologi, imunologi, dan data pesakit berpusatkan untuk mengesahkan keberkesanan Aloe gel lidah dalam bidang pergigian.
Sebanyak 38 tajuk abstrak, dan kajian teks penuh telah dipilih dan dikaji semula. Lidah buaya mempunyai pelbagai ciri-ciri perubatan seperti anti-radang, anti-bakteria, anti-virus, dan antitumor yang mempercepatkan penyembuhan luka dan membantu dalam merawat pelbagai luka di rongga mulut. Manfaat yang berkaitan dengan Aloe vera telah dikaitkan dengan polisakarida yang terkandung dalam gel daun.
Kesimpulan. Sifat-sifat farmakologi Aloe vera telah revalidated dalam sains moden melalui pelbagai dalam vivo dan in vitro kajian. Herba ini mempunyai potensi besar sebagai terapi pergigian. Walaupun lidah buaya adalah herba yang menjanjikan dengan pelbagai aplikasi klinikal dalam bidang perubatan dan pergigian, lebih banyak kajian klinikal perlu dilakukan terutamanya untuk mengesahkan dan menjelaskan tindakan acemannan hidrogel dalam mempercepatkan penyembuhan ulser aphthous dan untuk mengesahkan keberkesanan Aloe gel pada plak dan gingivitis, sehingga dapat diwujudkan dalam bidang pergigian.
Terdapat lebih 250 spesis Aloe berkembang di seluruh dunia. Hanya dua spesies ditanam secara komersial: Aloe barbadensis Miller dan Aloe arborescens. Pokok Aloe ditanam di, kawasan tropika yang panas dan tidak boleh hidup suhu seperti semasa musim sejuk yang membeku. Di Amerika Syarikat, kebanyakan Aloe ditanam di Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, Florida dan California Selatan. Di peringkat antarabangsa, Aloe boleh didapati di Mexico, negara-negara Pacific Rim, India, Amerika Selatan, Amerika Tengah, Caribbean, Australia, dan Afrika . Selama bertahun-tahun, pokok ini telah dikenali dengan beberapa nama seperti "the wand of heaven", "heaven’s blessing," dan "penyembuh senyap".

Sifat-sifat farmakologi Aloe vera telah di terima pakai dalam sains moden melalui pelbagai sumber kajian dalam vivo dan vitro. Kajian-kajian saintifik adalah bukti yang cukup baik bahawa dadah mempunyai potensi besar sebagai terapi pergigian. Jadi diagnosis yang betul, ilmu perubatan tradisional, dan pelaksanaan pengetahuan kepada pelan rawatan adalah penting dalam memastikan kejayaan dengan ejen terapeutik pergigian.
